Shelter has been in the works in one way or another for about 5 years. It is a warm, creative, and inviting space to gather to enjoy spending your free time like you would outdoors around the campfire or in the camper van. These are the places you can retreat and take Shelter. They may also be the same places to enjoy a few brews.
Shelter Brewing Company is a nano brewery, being a small operation with a brewhouse being 1.5hl. There are just the two of them at the moment, owners Stuart and Sarah. Stuart is their brewer and he’s been digging craft brews for a long time.
Stuart graduated from the Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management program at Olds College and went from homebrewing to professional brewing to navigating the craziness of starting up a brewery. Sarah runs the day-to-day operations in the taproom as well as branding and social media.
As a small operation they have steered away from the typical brewery model and are selling directly from their taproom. This means their focus is not on outside accounts or distribution at this time. The focus is on small batch, prairie inspired brews and the ability to turn out a wide variety of rotating and experimental beers.
They are located at:
255 2nd Ave S,
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada
